FAQ

Independence

1. Why did you choose to start your own firm?

Crosswaters Wealth Management was founded to help successful people and their families do more with their financial lives by following a comprehensive plan designed to fulfill their personal values as they pursue their life’s goals.

We are an independent firm*, meaning we do not report to a corporate headquarters whose agenda puts shareholders ahead of clients. Our independence gives us the freedom and flexibility to tailor our recommendations by accessing unlimited solutions from industry-leading sources, including banking, lending, investments, financial planning, and estate planning.

* Crosswaters Wealth Management is a DBA of Sanctuary Securities, Inc. and Sanctuary Advisors, LLC; however, we own 100% of our independent firm. To provide our clients with the services we offer, we are Registered Representatives of Sanctuary Securities Inc. (Member FINRA, SIPC) and Investment Advisor Representatives of Sanctuary Advisors, LLC, an SEC Registered Investment Adviser.

2. Why wasn’t I told sooner about your decision to launch a new firm?

While we would have enjoyed the opportunity to share our plans with you in advance, legal considerations and contractual restrictions prevented us from doing so. We are committed to respecting and abiding by those covenants as investment professionals, even though it was personally challenging to not have the ability to speak with you beforehand. We hope you can appreciate the situation we were in.

3. How will the launch of your firm affect me directly?

First and foremost, you will benefit from the collaborative approach we take in helping you identify your values and pursue your goals and dreams.

Access to a Broader Marketplace: Because we’re independent and own our own firm, we work in an open architecture, which means that we can access best-in-class products and services, including banking and lending solutions, from a wide variety of resource partners.

Robust Planning Solutions: We will be using advanced planning software from eMoney. This tool has robust capabilities that will allow you, and our team, to view, in real time, your complete financial picture, including assets held at other firms. eMoney also has a secure, user-friendly “Vault” which enables you to safely store important documents, such as trusts, wills, tax filings, insurance documents, titles, etc. You will be able to choose to share the uploaded documents with our team, in cases where it is helpful for us to have access to them.

Exceptional Client Service: With your best interests as our only agenda, our team is free to focus exclusively on addressing your individual service needs.

4. Why did we choose to be part of the advisor network Sanctuary Wealth?

We are able to leverage the technology, tools, and standardized processes available through Sanctuary Wealth that help maximize scalability and manage risk so that we can reinvest time where it matters most—with clients like you. By partnering with Sanctuary, we are able to deliver operational excellence, maintain a strong culture of compliance, and offer a robust cybersecurity program, which will safeguard the information clients entrust to our guidance. Sanctuary also empowers its partner firms with access to a vibrant community of like-minded, elite independent financial advisors. The advisors in this peer group share best practices and we can tap into our community’s intellectual capital to deliver more specialized expertise – and investment opportunities – to Crosswaters’ clients.

Custodian

1. How do I know my assets will be safe at your firm?

We have selected BNY Mellon Pershing as our Custodian. Pershing is an industry leader in clearing and custody services with over $2.0 trillion in global client assets representing seven million investor accounts worldwide. Pershing is owned by BNY Mellon, which is the longest standing operating bank in the U.S., surpassing 235 years. With over $41 trillion in assets under custody, BNY Mellon is the largest custodian in the world by a significant margin.

Pershing provides clearing and custody services in 65 global markets, with execution services in over 60 markets globally and facilitating the trading and conversion of 50 currencies.

Investing

1. Will my investments have to change if I want to follow you?

Your investments will not have to change because of a transition to Crosswaters. Going forward, the core strategies we use to manage your assets will not change, and of course, our investment management solutions are always specifically tailored to your risk parameters, timeline, and long-term objectives. What will improve, however, are certain capabilities, including our enhanced interactive financial planning, as well as broader access to more investment products and strategies, created by working in an open architecture environment.

Lending / Banking Products

1. What will happen to my loans or line of credit and mortgages?

Wherever your mortgage is now, keep it there. If you want a new mortgage, we can help source a new competitive rate. As an independent firm, we now have the freedom to pursue loans and lines of credit for our clients, identifying the best terms and rates for each situation.

2. Do I need to change my banking to work with Crosswaters Wealth Management?

You’re under no obligation to move your banking accounts as part of this transition. However, as we are now an independent team, we have the ability to go out in the marketplace on your behalf to identify comparable or better options than your current situation. We can advise you on what is the best banking relationship solution specifically for your needs – whether with a local, regional or national bank.

Client Service

1. Will my fees change with this transition?

No, the fees we charge as your investment advisor will be the same as they are today. You will benefit from what our new firm can now access: best-in-class products, services, and technologies that weren’t available in our previous environment. In fact, you will be happy to know that, with our new custodian, there will be no transfer fees, ATM fees (at any ATM), or account maintenance fees.

2. What is the process to move my relationship to Crosswaters Wealth Management?

Once you sign the account opening and transfer documents found in the welcome packet we send, we will submit a request to our prior firm to begin the transfer process. We will monitor your accounts daily for progress and confirm once all assets have transitioned and are posted to your account at Crosswaters. Once your accounts have transferred, we will work with you to re-establish any recurring payments and other transfers you may currently have.

3. How can I expect to view and access my assets once they transition to my new accounts?

You will be able to view your assets by utilizing the Client Login section. Once you log in, you will have the same type of access to all of your accounts and the ability to utilize services as you had been accustomed to. You can also install the BNY Mellon Pershing app on your phone to view your assets, view activity in your accounts, and perform services such as depositing checks into your accounts.

4. How can I reach you?

A Message from
Eric White

After spending nearly 29 years at one company, I am proud to announce the launch of my own independent wealth management firm, Crosswaters Wealth Management. Our entire team is extremely excited to be joining me as we take this step together. It has long been my dream to create a firm that is guided by the core foundation of always putting our clients’ interests first. This would be an opportunity to develop a company that aligns with my values – one that focuses solely on delivering advice and solutions that are not conditioned to corporate interests or quarterly results. The sole mission of Crosswaters is to prepare and position you and your family for the financial freedom you desire.

I spent countless hours reviewing and analyzing potential partners who could deliver a world-class planning and investment platform —and had a proven track record of securing clients’ assets. This process brought Crosswaters to Sanctuary Wealth and BNY Mellon | Pershing – two outstanding firms whose capabilities and culture made them the right fit for us. Pershing is an industry leader in clearing and custody services and is owned by BNY Mellon, which is the longest standing operating bank in the U.S., surpassing 235 years. BNY Mellon is the largest custodian in the world by a significant margin.

Crosswaters is one of the more than fifty independent firms that make up the Sanctuary Wealth family. Through Sanctuary’s platform, we will have comprehensive investment solutions, a vast network of resources, best-in-class technology and thought leadership, as well as opportunities to collaborate with other partner firms, expanding our access to innovative ideas and investment vehicles.

Becoming an independent advisor creates the flexibility to provide unique solutions and ideas while maintaining the highest fiduciary standards. My career path has uniquely prepared me for this evolution to independence, and I will focus all of my attention to helping our clients pursue their goals. We look forward in working together with you at Crosswaters Wealth Management.
